Hong Kong Zoological and Botanical Gardens was first established in Hong Kong park in 1871.

Mr. Charlie Amersfoort  was appointed as the park's first garden supervision in 1871. As the park site in 1841 to 1842 was used as a residence of the governor, therefore, many people still called Zoological and Botanical Gardens as "soldiers head Gardens"

It has started feeding wild animals for exhibition since 1876, with very few original buildings breeding birds and mammals, purely for visitors to watch.  It promote the conservation and green concept to the people,

Wing Lee Street buildings contains  currently unique and rare architectural features in Central and western district. It has a score of old-style traditional shops.

After Wing Lee Street was acquired by Urban Renewal Authority, some of the flats were being repaired and rent for artists.

Many Tang House(唐樓) are located in there! If you are interested in 50s, 60s Hong Kong, It is definitely a good place to for a look.

Wing Lee Street has been incorporated into the Urban Renewal Authority projects, of which three will retain the original tenement buildings, and the rest for residential redevelopment


Have you even see the movie Echoes of the Rainbow (歲月神偷)? The movie that got the Berlin Film Festival Hong Kong firm award!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This movie choose Wing Lee Street for 
framing.

Bridges Street Market
必列者士街街市

This is Bridges Street Market that is next to Wing Lee Street. It wasbuilt in 1953, which is the first market was bulit in cement in Honh Kong. This is a Bauhaus style(包浩斯風格) historical building that pay attention to the functional and simple look. It is going to revitalized to become the News Expo in 2016.

Piggie adventure day~~

In the hustle and bustle metropolitan city like Hong Kong, our technology is being more advanced. It is easy to go on the internet and receive different information directly. Our pace of life is extremely fast. Conversely, it is common to see that we have less time to slow down to enjoy a cup of coffee or even see the lovely surrounding. 


A different feeling of Central and Western District (CWD) will be shown to all of you. 
Old Hong Kong, Nostalgia.


Here is Slate Street (石板街). With the oblique wave and slope, an unique design of this street is decided. Different slates are paved on the slope. It showed some angle of old Hong Kong and it can be regarded as Nostalgia Street.
