San Wan Pier 西環碼頭

Is it attractive? Have you ever seen the beautiful sunset before?  Today let me introduce a nice place for you, the San Wan Pier.

It is a Public Cargo Working Area along the coast of Sai Wan on Hong Kong Island. It is a very well known public space among local community in sai wan, the photographic community !

Also there is a corner called "The mirror of the sky(天空之鏡)", do you know why?

Let's take a look of this photo and you will know what is the reason of being called this name.

The mirror of the sky天空之鏡

Actually there is a large puddle of reflecting the sky. This place becomes a famous place for taking photos.

However, you can only go there after it rains, otherwise you can't find the puddle ! !

The Sunset

Moreover, the pier becomes a sunset spot. Since there is no any buildings blocked the views, you can enjoy the sunset view of 360 degree ! ! !

Although privately owned, the owner allows 24-hour access without setting any rules.

This area has a great view of the Victoria Harbour, and a nice sunset . People who hang out here usually are the neighbourhood, couples, families, dog lovers and youngsters. They love spending their time here.

I'm going to introduce a nice place for those who like hiking and taking sunset photos!
It is the HIGH WEST (西高山)! You can always see the most beautiful sunset and island view in Central and Western District, especially on the top of High West.

High West is a hill with height of 494m and next to famous Victoria Peak. Its location can  see the view of Hong Kong Island West and reach the north to Victoria Harbour and south to East Lamma Channel.

-

It is suitable for those beginners to take a challenge as it is not really high and steep.

So here is some recommendations from Piggie! The best timing to start hiking is around 3 p.m. and normally you will be arrived in two hours. However, if you aim to take photos of sunset then you better check out the time of sunset from the website of Hong Kong Observatory (HKO) before you start.

-

Let me show you the best routine.

After arrived the top, you will see the summit of High West and the beautiful sunset landscape are all around you. So... 1,2,3 CHEERS!

Here are the suggestions for you to get there:

First, you may take the bus No.15 to the Peak, the bus stop is placed at Exchange Square in Central.

If you want to be more eco-friendly, You may take a walk! You can walk along the Lugard Road and go to High West Picnic Area when you arrived The Peak.
After that, you can see this pavilion and the way to High West is behind the pavilion. YEAH!
