SPD4459 The UNIQUE Tram 120

Welcome back to SPD4459 Footprints in Central and Western District! #SPD4459

The tram in Hong Kong, is one of my favorite features because of its uniqueness, you can only see it in Hong Kong Island district. The tram already has 110 years history and built in the early1900s by British. It is only one route and run along the north of Hong Kong Island to the East. Unlike other transportation on the ground, the tram will stop in every single stop and the tramlines are not separated from the rest of the road.

You can easily see tram’s riding in Hong Kong Island district, however, if you want to get on the tram that I am going to show below, you may need some luck.

That is Tram No.120, the reason why I said you may need some luck to meet this tram because it is the one and only in Hong Kong.

Hong Kong Tramways Limited keeps the tram No.120 purposely due to its precious history. It built in 1949 and it is the only one left in Hong Kong. The corporate also kept the traditional advertisements of pharmaceutical on the body of Tram 120. More than that, Tram 120 also has its own special features like the British control engines, wooden seats and “Wu Si” lights.

The trams have been running over 100 years, the trams grew up with Hong Kong and witnessed the prosperous development of Hong Kong. It is not only an environmentally friendly transport, but also a major tourist attraction in Hong Kong. 

So, Piggie highly recommends you guys to travel Hong Kong Island by tram and check tram 120 out. Wish you Luck!
