Today Piggie want to share a romantic destination in Central and Western District to all of you!! It is Duddell Street Steps (都爹利街). It was built between in 1875 - 1889, therefore it has a long history in Central.

There is a long stairs at Duddell Street Steps

Do you recognize this place? It usually appear in TV drama so this place become a destination, but this destination has a special thing I want to tell you. That is the gas lamps (煤氣路燈)!! There are four gas lamps surrounding the top and foot of the steps to provide street lighting at night. Also, these four gas lamps are the only surviving working gas street lamps in Hong Kong.

The gas lamps will light up at 6 p.m. everyday

If you come here at 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. you can feel the romantic atmosphere, so it is better for you to come here with your lovers :)

If you walk through the steps, you can find a Starbucks near the steps. That is a special Starbucks in Hong Kong. What make it special? Inside the Starbucks, the decoration is look like 50s-70s Hong Kong, it provided a corner is decorated as himuro, let people can feel the retro style and the past of Hong Kong.
