The Central–Mid-Levels escalator and walkway system in Hong Kong is the longest outdoor covered escalator system in the world. The entire system covers over 800 metres (2,600 ft) in distance and elevates over 135 metres (443 ft) from bottom to top. It was constructed in 1993 to provide a better commute by linking areas within the Central and Western District on Hong Kong Island. 

Destination of Central-Mid-Levels escalator

The escalator system starts alongside 100 Queens Road Central at its junction with Cochrane Street. It can be accessed either by escalator at the side of the main entrance to 100 Queen’s Road Central or by steps from Cochrane Street leading up to the footbridge across Queen’s Road Central.

Operation Hours: 

Downhill direction:
Mid-Levels to Central 6am to 10am daily 

Uphill direction: 

Central to Mid-Levels 10am to midnight daily

Transportation:
MTR Central Exit D2, turn right on Queen's Road Central and head towards Central Market
